I originally started this post with the sentence: Navigating grief is new to me.

But then I thought, well, not really… I lost all of my grandparents as an adult, including my maternal grandmother to whom I was very close. As an only child, I was by my parents’ sides while they grieved the loss of their own mothers and fathers.
